GovHack 2017 International Red Carpet Awards night to be held in Brisbane on 14 October 2017
Australia’s largest hackathon GovHack has concluded for another year. Taking place in 36 locations including every state and territory for the first time, over three thousand people came together to participate in building innovative applications based on open government data.
Picking winners will not be easy. GovHack National Director, Richard Tubb, said “This year there is new data, including a new census, plus new software tools for talented teams to use. I can’t wait to see what they came up with.”
This year’s projects can be seen at https://2017.hackerspace.govhack.org/projects.
Over the next two months the judges will be hard at work getting everything in order for the big night in Brisbane.
We are pleased to announce that the prestigious GovHack 2017 International Red Carpet Awards night is sponsored by the Queensland Government Digital Productivity and Services Division.
Queensland Minister for Innovation, Science and the Digital Economy Leeanne Enoch said “GovHack helps to foster a knowledge economy and supports the potential creation of new knowledge-based businesses and jobs,” Ms Enoch said.
“I look forward to welcoming 2017 GovHack finalists to Brisbane in October to celebrate some truly unique and innovative uses of open data.”
